Classical Jordan

Day 1: Airport – Amman

Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport, our chauffeur will meet you and drive you to the hotel in Amman overnight.

Day 2: Amman – Um Qais – Ajloun – Jerash – Amman

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Umm Qais with a magnificent view over the Yarmouk River, the Golan Heights, and Lake Tiberias, this town was known as Gadara one of the most brilliant ancient Greco-Roman cities of the Decapolis, then to the mighty Crusaders Castle of Ajloun. Departure through pine forests and olive groves to the fascinating Greco-Roman city of Jerash. The guide will take you for a tour through the colonnaded street, amphitheater, churches, temples, and the vast Roman Forum. Return to hotel in Amman for overnight.

Day 3: Amman City Tour – Dessert Castles – Amman

After breakfast drive on Amman City Tour to visit King Abdullah Mosque, the Roman Amphitheater, and the Citadel. Then to Desert Castles to visit three surprising examples of Islamic art and architecture: Azraq Fort, Qusayr Amra, and Qasr Kharaneh. Continue to Amman overnight.

Day 4: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Kerak – Petra

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for a journey to the south of Amman, visit Madaba, which has some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world including the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy land and Mount Nebo, the highest in the Moabit range which has been a center for pilgrimages since earliest Christian times.

Then drive into and up out the all-inspiring Wadi Mujib via The King's Highway to the Kerak Castle, the largest late Islamic castle in Jordan, initially constructed in the Crusader period and expanded and refortified during the Ayyubid and Mamluk periods. Continue to Petra overnight.

Day 5: Petra visit

After breakfast, tour the Red Rose city Petra. Upon arrival, you will begin an unforgettable trip on horseback to the Siq after by foot through the narrow passage between the massive walls of rock that provides the main access to the ancient site. Entering Petra through this chasm till we reach our first glimpse of the Treasury, whose towering façade bedecked with magnificent columns was made famous in the final sequence of the popular Hollywood film /Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade/. Overnight at Petra.

Day 6: Petra – Little Petra - Wadi Rum

After breakfast drive to Little Petra (Al-Beidah) 8 km from Petra, the ruins of the ancient village date back some 9000 years and, like Jericho constitute one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Middle East, continue the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert Wadi Rum, 2 hours 4x4 tour in the desert, go to the campsite, dinner and overnight under a tent and the wonderful starry sky.

Day 7: Wadi Rum – Aqaba

After breakfast drive south to the Red Sea hotel of Aqaba, free time for leisure, overnight at Aqaba.

Day 8: Aqaba – the Dead Sea – Amman

After breakfast drive to the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea, enjoy swimming in the buoyant waters, and get covered in mud. Drive to Amman overnight.

Day 9: Amman – Q. A. Airport

After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for departure.

*In Petra English speaking local private guide is available for 2-3 hours, which covers lower parts of Petra, afterward you can explore by yourselves more sites such as Royal Tombs or Monastery. A horse ride from the Visitor’s Center to the Siq (800 m) is included in the entrance ticket to Petra so if you wish you can take it. Usually, you are requested to pay a tip for a man leading the horse.

**In Wadi Rum 4x4 cars are very basic vehicles owned by local Bedouin associations. Please kindly note that this is the only transportation provided to explore Wadi Rum.

The rate is valid for a minimum of 2 persons. Tour is on a private basis starting any day of the week.
