Religious Tour

Day 1: Q. A. Airport – Amman

Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport, our chauffeur will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Amman. Overnight in Amman.

Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Anjara – Amman

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the fascinating Greco-Roman city of Jerash. Your guide will take you on a tour through the colonnaded street, amphitheater, churches, temples, and the vast Roman Forum.

By the middle of the 5th century, Christianity had become the dominant religion in the region, and numerous churches were constructed in Jerash. Many of these churches were built using stones taken from pagan temples, and their remains can still be seen today.

Continue to Ajloun Castle and then to Anjara, where it is believed that Jesus Christ, his disciples, and the Virgin Mary once passed through and rested in a cave during their journey between the Sea of Galilee, the Decapolis cities, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, and Jerusalem.

The cave in Anjara has long been a sacred pilgrimage site and is now commemorated by the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain. It was also designated by the Catholic Churches of the Middle East as one of the five pilgrimage sites for the year 2000.

Return to Amman for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Mukawir – Um Al-Rasas – Petra

After breakfast, depart for a journey south of Amman. Visit Madaba, known for its outstanding Byzantine mosaics, including the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land.

Continue to Mount Nebo, the highest point in the Moabite range and an important pilgrimage site since early Christian times.

Proceed to Mukawir (Machaerus), the hilltop fortress of Herod Antipas, the Roman-appointed ruler during the time of Jesus Christ. It was here that John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded after Salome’s dance.

Continue to Um Al-Rasas, where the main attraction is the Church of St. Stephen, featuring one of the largest and most remarkable mosaic floors in Jordan. It depicts 27 cities from the Old and New Testament periods across the Holy Land and Egypt, making it second only to the Madaba Mosaic Map.

Continue to Petra. Overnight in Petra.

Day 4: Petra Visit

After breakfast, explore the Red Rose City of Petra. Upon arrival, begin your journey with an optional horseback ride, followed by a walk through the Siq — a narrow passage between towering rock walls that serves as the main entrance to the ancient city.

As you exit the Siq, you will witness your first breathtaking view of the Treasury, whose magnificent façade was featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Overnight in Petra.

Day 5: Petra – Bethany – Dead Sea – Amman

After breakfast, drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Enjoy floating in its buoyant waters and experiencing the mineral-rich mud.

On the way, view the famous rock formation known as Lot’s Wife, said to have been turned into a pillar of salt.

Continue to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the site where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist.

After the visit, return to Amman for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Amman – Q. A. Airport

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for your departure.

Notes:

In Petra, an English-speaking local guide is available for 2–3 hours and covers the lower parts of the site. You can explore additional areas such as the Royal Tombs or the Monastery independently. A horse ride from the Visitor’s Center to the Siq (800 m) is included in the entrance ticket; tipping is customary.

** A visa to Jordan is available on arrival for most nationalities (fees apply).

In Bethany, the shuttle bus and audio guide (available in 7 languages) are included in the entrance fee.

The rate is valid for a minimum of 2 persons. The tour operates on a private basis and can start on any day of the week.
